Care Instructions
We highly recommend that items be treated not only to help prevent rusting but to make them food safe as well. The easiest way to do this is to treat everything like a cast-iron skillet.
1) Wipe down the item in a high smoke-point oil (vegetable, canola, grapeseed, avocado, peanut, etc). Place the item in an oven or grill at 350°F - 400°F (175°C - 204°C) for 30 to 60 minutes.

2) Heat the item in an oven or grill at 350°F - 400°F (175°C - 204°C) for 30 to 60 minutes. Carefully take items out and spray down with Pam spray
For both methods, repeat the process 2-3 times for the best outcome and then allow the item to fully cool.
*This process should be repeated once a year to maintain the items.
**It is highly recommended to oil the item outside, as it tends to smoke a lot.
How to Treat Items
Oil Candles
For the best burn, we recommend using canola oil or peanut oil in your oil candle. To fill the lamp, simply put the oil into the bowl until it reaches just below the wick. This will ensure the steady burn that will last for hours.
You can also add citronella oil, a natural insect repellent, along with various other essential oils to create a candle-like scent.
All candles use 100% cotton 1/4-inch wicks, which can be easily replaced and are widely available at most hardware stores.
*For larger candles, marbles or stones can be placed in the bottom to raise the oil level if need be.
